Engineered flooring is a primarily a top layer of protective lacquer or oil with a thin layer of solid wood below. This layer of solid wood rests on a base comprised of plywood, HDF or a similar type of material. Engineered flooring essentially imitates solid hard wood flooring.
One of the main benefits of engineered wood flooring is that it can be used in areas where solid wood is possibly not practical or even feasible solution. Places or rooms like conservatories, changing rooms or very long hall ways. The construction of these floor boards makes them a lot more stable than solid wood. Engineered flooring would also suit areas that may be exposed to moisture or heat which could cause solid wood to move, cup or bow out of shape, this only happens solid wood in very extreme or adverse conditions however.
Engineered wooden flooring looks and feels exactly the same as solid wood. All our Engineered flooring comes fully finished and incorporates an easy to lay click system.
